In
MP3 files, some titles
here,
recorded from my score. Then with a midi-audio sequencer. So, no real
instruments but certainly a clear and
good idea for a project by an orchestra.

2'30''. From picture main theme. All
is in expression
with this strange
and beautiful music (1,98 mo)
Gone
with the Wind: (Max
Steiner).
2'30" env. (here without
repeat
de 2'). Famous main
theme from famous picture. Can be played by a "junior orchestra" in a
musical classroom.
(1,45 mo)
Largo "Symphonie
du Nouveau Monde" : (Anton
Dvoràk). 3'10''. Everyone knows this famous theme. This
Largo
eventually also for a "modest" ensemble of young musicians. Attention
to
an important work with a lot of indications for beautiful
expression.
(2,56 mo).
Invisible man : (Henry
Mancini). 2'10''. Main theme from a TV serie (1970-80). Enjoying the
melodic & "efficient" harmonic ways. (2,02 mo).
Les Aventures de
Pinocchio : (Forenzo Carpi). 5'38". Three main themes from the
famous film (and TV serie) by Luigi Comencini. (5,16 mo).
Starwars : (John
Williams). 3'57". From the famous picture (and famous music)... First,
I made a "realistic score"... But to much difficulties (triplets &
a lot of notes very fast... So I wrote a "light version" for young
people. However it contains some technical difficulties because
Williams's music is not evident to perform.
(2,8 mo)
By You : (Antony Banks).
3'50". Tony is the most important musician (keyboard) composing with
"Genesis" during 1970-80. He also wrote some scores for pictures and
even a symphonic work (record published by Naxos). By You is a
"synthetic" song from a solo album "The fugitive" (1980). I enjoyed to
transcribe this beautiful melody for acoustic ensemble. (2,20 mo)
Others
exist... I
essentially work first with
"the phone on the head" (or sometime remembering...) to transcribe
notes in a basic score piano-voice(s). I don't like to use a precedent
score. Then, after transcribing notes, rythms... I make the
orchestration using all informations I have about final project :
performance, number of musicians, os minutes, technical level
for
musicians
(ex. if it is a project with a very good guitarist... I 'll write
a very important
part for him...).
I also write arrangements from songs for trios,
quartets, etc... Example
:
God
only knows :
The famous "God only
knows" (Beach Boys -Brian Wilson) in my release for 3 parts (flutes)
& piano.
